CUPRA Soccer Program

Intro

CUPRA has launched a soccer development program aimed at providing young athletes with a structured environment to enhance their skills while training alongside their peers. This initiative not only focuses on refining soccer techniques but also fosters teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The primary goal of the program is to establish a competitive soccer club that will participate at the regional level, with a long-term vision of developing young talent into professional players. One of its key objectives is to offer opportunities for children from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring they receive the same level of training and experience as other clubs across Queensland.

Program Structure

The program currently caters to children and teenagers between the ages of 4 and 17, structured into three age-based categories:

• Category 1: Under 6
• Category 2: Ages 6–12
• Category 3: Ages 12– 17

Unlike the traditional soccer academies, CUPRA’s program is structured based solely on age, rather than gender, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all participants.

Training and Coaching

The program has already enrolled over 50 young athletes and is supported by a team of three professional coaches who generously volunteer their time to train them. Training sessions take place twice a week on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, a dedicated team oversees the registration process. This includes a thorough assessment of each player’s health status to create a safe and supportive training environment.
